External Lightning Protection Terminal System

External Lightning Protection

NFC 17-102 Compliant Wide Protection Radius Robust Structural Safety

Site Survey, Design & Installation of External Lightning Protection Systems

External Protection is designed on a facility to protect it from any direct lightning strikes. International standards and recommendations from IEC, NFC, UNE, UL, and IEEE govern how these systems are designed and installed. The external protection system comprises an air terminal network, down conductors, and an earth termination system.

Engineers at Dhruva Technologies Pvt. Ltd are UL certified and custom design solutions for each project, deploying the best performing products available in the market.

01

Site Survey & Risk Assessment

Quantitative evaluation per IEC 62305-2 to specify exact protection level (LPL I to IV).

02

Air Terminal Network Design

Optimized placement of ESE or Franklin air terminals ensuring 100% building coverage.

03

Down Conductor & Earth Termination

Low-impedance grounding grid with exothermically welded joints and soil treatment.

Franklin Lightning Rods

Franklin lightning rods are metal rods installed in a network on a facility to provide preferred points of strike for lightning leaders. The zone of protection and level of protection are calculated based on air terminal height and inter-rod spacing according to Rolling Sphere and Protection Angle methods.
